Hearts of Oak approach Accra Lions Coach Richard Afoakwa for key role

Hearts of Oak have made contact with Accra Lions head coach Richard Afoakwa over a potential role as the club's assistant coach and youth team head coach, GHANASoccernet.com understands.

The Phobians are keen to bring the highly rated young tactician into their setup, offering a dual role that would see him work alongside the first team while also spearheading youth development.

Accra Lions, however, are determined to retain Afoakwa and are pushing to tie him down to a contract extension. The club views him as a key part of their project and is reluctant to let him leave.

Both clubs are currently working behind the scenes as the race for Afoakwa's signature intensifies. The coming days could prove decisive as Hearts push to secure their target while Lions fight to keep their man.
