Bayern Munich midfielder Bara Sapoko Ndiaye is expected to miss several weeks after being diagnosed with appendicitis, leaving the German champions without him for crucial domestic and European fixtures.

The midfielder will be unavailable for Bayern's Bundesliga showdown with Borussia Dortmund, known as Der Klassiker, as well as their Champions League meeting with Atlético Madrid.

His absence comes at a demanding point in Bayern's schedule, with the club preparing for important matches in both competitions.

The setback will limit the team's midfield options as they seek to maintain their performances during a significant period of the season.

Bayern are hopeful Ndiaye could return to action around the middle of November, shortly after the international break.

However, his comeback will depend on his recovery and whether he can regain full fitness before returning to competitive football.

The player and the club's medical staff are working towards that potential return date, with his recovery taking priority over an immediate return to the squad.

Key matches without Ndiaye

Bayern must now prepare for two high-profile fixtures without the midfielder, beginning with their Bundesliga meeting against Borussia Dortmund.

Der Klassiker is one of the most prominent fixtures in German football, and Ndiaye's unavailability will leave Bayern with fewer midfield options for the contest.

The club will need to adjust its plans as it prepares to face one of its major domestic rivals.

The challenge will extend to European competition, with Bayern also due to meet Atlético Madrid in the Champions League.

Bayern will therefore need to manage their available resources carefully while continuing to monitor Ndiaye's condition.
